The Sexton 11 Years Old is an exclusive, limited-edition bottling of the renowned Irish single malt whisky, which develops a significantly more complex structure and aromatic depth thanks to an extended maturation period and the deliberate use of Oloroso sherry casks. Made from 100 % malted barley and triple-distilled in traditional copper stills, this whisky is matured for 11 years – exclusively in first-fill European oak casks that previously held Oloroso sherry.

With an alcohol content of 43 % vol., this version impresses with its harmony, character and depth – significantly more mature than The Sexton’s well-known NAS classic. The distinctive, hexagonal black bottle remains, but in this edition it represents a fuller-bodied, more mature and velvety expression of Irish whisky. An exciting bottling for collectors and connoisseurs of matured single malts with sherry influence.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep amber with mahogany-coloured highlights.

Nose: Sherry-soaked wood, dark dried fruit, caramel, orange peel and nuts.

Palate: Full-bodied and rounded with notes of dates, dark chocolate, vanilla, toasted almonds and oaky spice.

Finish: Long-lasting, warming and elegant, with a delicate sweetness and a dry sherry note.

Best enjoyed neat to fully appreciate the complexity of flavours resulting from sherry cask maturation and long ageing. Adding a few drops of water also elegantly opens up the flavour. Culinary pairings: the Sexton 11 Years Old pairs superbly with strong blue cheese, dark chocolate with orange zest, fig tart, or as a stylish digestif after a hearty meal.
