The Blue Spot 7 Years Old Pot Still Irish Whiskey is the powerful rebirth of a historic name from the legendary Spot Whiskey range from Mitchell & Son, one of Ireland's oldest wine merchants. This bottling marks the return of Blue Spot after more than 50 years and adds a cask strength version to the well-known range, bottled straight from the cask at an intense 58.4% vol. without chill filtration or colouring.

The whiskey matures for at least seven years in an unusual combination of bourbon, sherry and rare Madeira casks. This maturation gives the pot still whiskey its unmistakable depth, structure and aromatic complexity. The pot still distillation - typically Irish - brings a strong, spicy base, which is complemented by the casks with notes of dried fruit, spice and sweet oak.

As part of the traditional "Spot" series, Blue Spot stands for quality, craftsmanship and origin. The bottling is limited and coveted by collectors and connoisseurs alike. The high alcohol content brings strength, but also expression - a real premium whiskey for experienced connoisseurs.

Tasting Note

Colour: Rich gold with a slight amber shimmer.

Nose: Intense with spices, dried fruit, citrus, honey and oak.

Flavour: Full-bodied with notes of nutmeg, roasted almonds, dark fruits, vanilla and Madeira sweetness.

Finish: Langs, powerful and complex with spicy warmth and a fine fruit echo.

Ideal neat in a nosing glass or with a few drops of water to unfold the complex profile. Excellent with strong blue cheese, dark chocolate or baked fruit. Also perfect for vertical tastings with Green, Yellow and Red Spot. A real statement for lovers of Irish cask strength whiskeys.
