The Kaiken Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 comes from the heart of Mendoza, Argentina’s most important wine region, where the Cabernet Sauvignon grape thrives under ideal climatic conditions. The Kaiken winery was founded by Aurelio Montes, one of Chile’s most renowned winemakers, with the aim of combining the best of both sides of the Andes: Chilean expertise and Argentine terroir.

The vines for this wine grow on stony, well-drained soils at the foot of the Andes, at altitudes characterised by cool nights and warm days. These conditions ensure slow ripening, intense fruit aromas and an excellent acidity profile. After being harvested by hand, the Cabernet Sauvignon is fermented in stainless steel tanks and then aged partly in French oak barrels – which lends the wine structure and finesse without overpowering the fruit.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Kaiken Estate displays a deep, dark ruby red colour with violet highlights. On the nose, blackcurrants, cherries and cassis dominate, accompanied by subtle notes of vanilla, tobacco and black pepper. On the palate, the wine is powerful, well-balanced and velvety, with ripe tannins, good length and a spicy, fruity finish.

Ideal with barbecued beef, lamb, spicy stews, game dishes and mature hard cheeses. Also a delight on its own for lovers of intense, structured red wines. Perfect for barbecues, autumnal meals or as a robust accompaniment to dark chocolate.
