The Glentauchers 16 Years Old from Signatory Vintage’s limited-edition 100 Proof range is a powerful and characterful single malt Scotch whisky that vividly reflects the signature style of the Speyside distillery, Glentauchers. Distilled in 2009 and bottled in the cask year 2023, this exclusive bottling matured for a full 16 years in a single hogshead cask (#11). It is presented in its natural state: non-chill-filtered, with no colouring added, and boasting a robust alcohol content of 57.1 % vol., or 100 British Proof – a rarity on the market.

The bottling is part of the ‘100 Proof Editions’ range from Signatory Vintage, an independent bottler based in Pitlochry, renowned for its uncompromising cask selection and authentic whiskies. These editions are bottled exclusively at cask strength and embody the concentration, depth and pure expressiveness of each distillery. The Glentauchers distillery, founded in 1897, is renowned amongst connoisseurs for its fruity, creamy malts, which rarely appear as original bottlings – making independent single cask releases such as this one all the more sought-after.

Tasting Note

Colour: Golden yellow.

Nose: Intense fruity notes of pear, apple compote and yellow plum, underpinned by vanilla, cereal and a hint of herbs.

Palate: Full-bodied and oily with ripe stone fruits, sweet malt, creamy oak, spices and subtle citrus freshness.

Finish: Long and warming with vanilla, toasted nuts and elegant woody spice.

This single malt is ideal for enjoying neat at room temperature – preferably in a nosing glass. As it is cask strength, a splash of water is recommended to further open up the fruity and malty aromas.
