The Douglas Laing Old Particular Ledaig 12 Years Old 2011 is a strictly limited edition release from the renowned Old Particular range by the independent bottler Douglas Laing. With an alcohol content of 48.4% vol., a maturation period of 12 years and presented in an elegant 0.7-litre bottle complete with a high-quality gift box (GB), this single malt is aimed at connoisseurs and collectors of exceptional whiskies.


This Ledaig single malt was distilled in November 2011 and bottled in December 2023. It is limited to just 835 bottles worldwide, which further emphasises its collector’s value. Produced at the Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull, Ledaig Whisky is renowned for its distinctive, smoky whiskies. Maturation in ex-oak casks lends this whisky an impressive balance between maritime notes, robust smoke and spicy depth – a typical yet particularly elegant example of Ledaig Whisky’s peaty character.

Tasting Note

Colour: Light amber.

Nose: Intense peaty smoke, with a maritime character featuring notes of salt, seaweed and a hint of sweetness.

Palate: Powerful, spicy and complex with campfire smoke, malt, spices and a hint of caramel.

Finish: Long-lasting, smoky and maritime with subtle spice.

The Old Particular Ledaig 12 Years Old is excellent enjoyed neat to experience the characteristic combination of smoke and maritime notes. Adding a few drops of water brings out additional facets such as sweetness and fruitiness. Culinary pairings include grilled meat, strong cheeses such as blue cheese, or smoked fish. It is also an excellent choice to accompany a cigar or dark chocolate with a high cocoa content.
