The Krispel Pinot Blanc Straden Vulkanland Styria DAC 2023, 13% ABV, 0.75 l, is a characterful single-vineyard wine from the Styrian Vulkanland region, which impressively embodies the elegance and finesse of the grape variety. The Weingut Krispel, renowned for its precise, terroir-driven wines, focuses on the highest quality, craftsmanship and a vinification process that guarantees depth and complexity in this Pinot Blanc.


The grapes come from the Lager vineyards around Straden, where volcanic soils, combined with the cool microclimate, create ideal conditions. The wine is aged for 12 months in large French oak barrels, which lends it additional structure, body and subtle toasted aromas. With an alcohol content of 13 % vol. and a ageing potential until 2035, it combines drinking pleasure and ageing potential at the very highest level.

Tasting Note

The Straden 2023 Pinot Blanc presents a pale golden-yellow colour in the glass. On the nose, aromas of ripe pome fruit, delicate toasted notes and cloves unfold, accompanied by a hint of exotic fruit. On the palate, it is initially creamy and full-bodied, but then develops a firm, elegant structure with good length. A fine acidity, spicy nuances, pear-like notes and an iodine-like minerality lend it depth. The finish is long, elegant and underpinned by harmonious minerality.

The Krispel Pinot Blanc Straden DAC 2023 is a versatile dining companion that pairs particularly well with ‘Neusetzer Kuh’ cheese, creamy pearl barley risotto, truffle pasta, pan-fried duck breast or grilled fish. It is also an excellent choice with hearty vegetarian dishes or mature cheeses. Served at 10–12 °C, it reveals its full aromatic complexity and ensures moments of pure enjoyment.
