The Edradour Ballechin SFTC 10 Years Old Bourbon Cask Matured 2011 is a rare bottling from the popular Straight From The Cask (SFTC) range produced by the historic Highland distillery, Edradour. The name ‘Ballechin’ is used to denote the distillery’s particularly heavily peated whiskies, which impress with their robust smokiness and intense variety of aromas.

This single malt was distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2022 after 10 years of maturation. It was matured entirely in selected bourbon casks, which lend it a harmonious combination of vanilla sweetness, a creamy texture and elegant oak aromas. At 57.4% ABV, it is bottled at cask strength, naturally without chill filtration or colouring, thereby preserving its natural authenticity. Bottled in the distinctive 0.5-litre bottle and presented in a rustic wooden gift box (GB), it is a real highlight for both collectors and lovers of peaty whiskies.

Tasting Note

Colour: Pale gold with shimmering highlights.

Nose: Intense peaty smoke, accompanied by vanilla, coconut, grain and a subtle spiciness from the oak.

Palate: Powerful and creamy with a smoky character, notes of vanilla, toffee, wood, citrus and a hint of spices.

Finish: Long-lasting, smoky and spicy with a delicate balance of sweetness and woody notes.

The Edradour Ballechin SFTC 10 Years Old Bourbon Cask Matured 2011 is a single malt for connoisseurs who appreciate the intense character of peaty whiskies. It is perfect for enjoying neat at cask strength, but a few drops of water can bring out even more flavours.
