The name "Natterjack" is derived from a species of frog native to Ireland that is known for going its own way - a symbol of the brand's philosophy. The whiskey itself consists of a combination of pot still and grain whiskey, which is first matured in American white oak bourbon barrels and then aged in virgin American oak casks. This double cask maturation gives Natterjack its unmistakable depth, warmth and vanilla flavour, which sets it apart from classic Irish blends.
