The K+K Kirnbauer FOREVER 2020 is a strictly limited-edition cuvée, produced exclusively in outstanding vintages and presented in a high-quality wooden box. The blend of 45 per cent Merlot, 38 per cent Cabernet Sauvignon and 17 per cent Cabernet Franc forms the basis for a red wine of exceptional density and structure. The grape varieties are vinified separately by variety and vineyard plot before being carefully blended following individual ageing. The vinification process involves gentle destemming and precise selection to ensure that only perfectly ripened grapes are used. Following controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine undergoes a 21-day maceration period followed by malolactic fermentation in barriques. Ageing takes place over 38 months exclusively in new French barriques, which significantly shapes the character of this wine and underpins its enormous ageing potential. With an alcohol content of 14 per cent by volume and a structure designed for longevity, the FOREVER 2020 is ideally suited to long-term ageing – it will reach its peak drinking maturity around 2045.


Its origins in soils such as sandy loam, red loam and heavy loam lend the wine depth and power, whilst the careful blending precisely harmonises its elegant yet robust character. The bottling in spring 2023 allows the individual components to blend perfectly, creating a red wine that impresses in its youth whilst continuing to develop its complexity over the decades. The limited production run, the consistently high-quality ageing process and the presentation in a wooden box make the FOREVER 2020 an outstanding choice for special occasions and for collectors of fine Austrian red wines.

Tasting Note

In the glass, it displays a brilliant ruby red colour with a dense, dark core. On the nose, ripe cassis, blackberries, blackcurrants and violets unfold, alongside nuances of pepper, mint and subtle toasted aromas. On the palate, the wine is intense, with robust tannins and a juicy acidity, which together form an elegant, well-balanced body. The finish displays impressive length, multi-layered depth and lingers for a long time.

The FOREVER 2020 is an ideal accompaniment to robust dishes such as beef fillet, braised lamb, game or duck breast, as its structure and depth complement intense flavours superbly.
