The Poliziano Rosso di Montepulciano DOC 2024 is based on a classic blend of 80 per cent Sangiovese – traditionally known as Prugnolo Gentile in Montepulciano – and 20 per cent Merlot. The grapes are organically grown and thrive on clay soils rich in galestro, which contribute significantly to the wine’s characteristic regional structure. The wine is aged in both stainless steel tanks and barriques, with the ageing period deliberately kept short to preserve the youthful freshness of the Sangiovese as the central focus. The 2024 vintage is vegan, filtered and sealed with natural cork; the recommended serving temperature is 16–18 °C, and it has ageing potential until 2030. As a stylistic introduction to the world of Vino Nobile, this Rosso showcases the characteristic clarity and directness that distinguish the Poliziano estate, combining tradition with modern precision.

Tasting Note

In the glass, it displays an intense ruby red colour. On the nose, notes of sour cherries, dark forest fruits, blood oranges, red liquorice and a hint of wet stones come to the fore, accompanied by herbaceous and floral nuances. On the palate, the wine is dense, focused and elegantly structured, with medium body, a velvety texture and subtly integrated tannins. The finish is flavourful, crisp and long-lasting.
