The Old St. Croix X.O. Reserve 175 Years Anniversary Superior Spirit Drink 42% 0.7 l + GB was created to celebrate the 175th anniversary of Albert Heinrich Riise, who opened his famous Apothecary Hall on Saint Thomas in the then Danish West Indies in 1838. His passion for distillation, Caribbean raw materials and perfect craftsmanship still forms the basis of the Old St. Croix brand today. For this special anniversary, the Master Distiller has created an exclusive blend that combines the traditional art of production with modern quality standards. The Superior Spirit Drink is based on carefully selected, matured Caribbean distillates that impress with their smooth style, fine sweetness and aromatic depth. The elegant gift box (GB) emphasises the special character of this limited special bottling.


In the glass, the Anniversary Blend reveals its fine, light golden colour and unfolds a structured interplay of aromas, ranging from cool herbal notes to warm dessert tank tones. The combination of Caribbean cask ageing, aromatic fruit nuances and spicy accents makes this bottling a successful homage to A.H. Riise's historical heritage. Fine leather tones, citrus accents and light herbal facets round off the profile and give this blend an elegant, multi-layered signature that makes it a special treat both on its own and in selected drinks.

Tasting Note

Colour: Light gold.

Nose: Cool mint over toffee and leather, with a hint of citrus.

Flavour: Eucalyptus, baked plum in Tatin style, fine notes of white tea and bergamot oil.

Finish: Leather and bergamot merge into an elegant, harmonious finish.

This X.O. Reserve 175 Years Anniversary harmonises particularly well with desserts such as crème caramel, plum tart, burnt cream or dark chocolate with citrus accents, whose sweetness and spiciness perfectly complement its aromatic elegance. It goes excellently with cheese in combination with mature Gouda, mild blue mould or nutty Comté, as the spicy and creamy nuances of the cheese form a wonderful balance to the herbal and leathery tones of the blend. Enjoyed on its own, it unfolds its full depth when slightly warmed, but it also displays a harmonious, perfectly balanced interplay of flavours in an Old Fashioned with orange oil or a dessert highball with soda and ice.
