The Bunnahabhain 21 Years Old Cask Strength Edition 2025 is an exceptional bottling from the historic Bunnahabhain Distillery on Islay and is clearly aimed at connoisseurs of mature, sherry-influenced single malts. This limited edition has been bottled at cask strength at 53.1 per cent and is deliberately free from chill filtration and colouring agents, ensuring that its structure, depth and authenticity are fully preserved.


For the majority of its long maturation period, the whisky was aged in ex-Oloroso sherry casks, before undergoing a final finish in selected Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. This combination of casks lends the single malt exceptional depth and complexity, without masking the maritime character typical of Bunnahabhain. Despite its Islay origins, this Islay single malt Scotch whisky is characterised less by smoke and more by elegance, salty nuances and a distinctly sherry-driven aroma. The Cask Strength Edition 2025 is thus powerful, multi-layered and long-lasting, yet remarkably well-balanced. The high-quality gift box emphasises the exclusive nature of this bottling.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep auburn.

Nose: Rich, sweet, intense, characterised by dried fruit, toffee, brown sugar, walnut, leather and a subtle briny note.

Palate: Full-bodied, powerful, complex, with PX raisins, chocolate-coated cherries, toasted nuts, spicy oak, espresso and notes of cinnamon and cloves.

Finish: Long-lasting, warming, chocolatey, accompanied by dark fruits, sherry spice and a subtle hint of sea breeze.

This long-lasting, well-structured Islay single malt is ideal for enjoying neat during quiet moments and reveals its full potential at room temperature. It is the perfect accompaniment to dark chocolate with a high cocoa content, desserts featuring dried fruit, or mature hard cheese. This bottling also impresses as a meditative digestif after a substantial meal, with its depth, warmth and lingering aromas.
