Tasting Note

Colour: Deep ruby amber.

Nose: Ripe red fruit, subtle wood and light wine notes.

Finish: Langs, round and characterised by gentle oak.

This single malt harmonises perfectly with hearty dishes such as braised beef or game dishes, as the many years of maturation in casks and the wine wood character ideally support the aromatic character of such dishes. It is also ideal with mature hard cheese or mild blue cheese, the intensity of which is elegantly complemented by the complex structure of the whisky. It makes a particularly harmonious combination with dark chocolate or desserts based on red fruits, as the cask maturation in Bordeaux wood picks up on these flavours. As a soloist, it unfolds its depth best in quiet moments, for example as a digestif after a multi-course meal or in combination with an aromatic coffee.
