The Rum Nation Mauritius 8 Years Old Cask Strength Rum is an expressive limited edition, limited to 1,983 bottles, from the independent bottler Rum Nation and is clearly aimed at lovers of powerful, unadulterated rums. This cask strength rum is based on sugar cane molasses and comes entirely from Mauritius, where it was allowed to mature under tropical conditions. It was initially matured for five years in ex-bourbon barrels, followed by a further 40 months in first-fill bourbon barrels, which gives the bottling additional depth, structure and intensity. This matured Mauritius rum was bottled without reduction at 54.9% vol. to retain its full cask character.
