Description
Description
The Weinhof Ulrich St. Anna Chardonnay Vulkanland Steiermark DAC 2024 is an expressive Styrian Chardonnay local wine that precisely combines power, clarity and origin. It comes from the municipality of St. Anna am Aigen and represents the local wine level of the DAC origin pyramid in Vulkanland Steiermark. It is produced by the renowned Weinhof Ulrich winery, which stands for precise style, hand-picked grapes and an uncompromising focus on terroir.
The vines are rooted in lime-free soils of loamy-sandy loose sediment with volcanic weathering material, which gives the wine structure, tension and a clear mineral undertone. Maturation in steel tanks preserves the freshness and varietal expressiveness of the Chardonnay without overlaying its character with wood. The 2024 vintage is considered small but fine in Styria: low yields after a hot summer led to powerful, ripe wines with pronounced fruit and great potential - especially at the local wine level. With 13% alcohol by volume, this Vulkanland Steiermark DAC is juicy, structured and long-lasting; the optimum drinking window is 5-7 years.
Tasting Note
The St. Anna Chardonnay 2024 has a clear straw yellow colour in the glass. The nose reveals exotic impressions of pineapple, papaya and ripe yellow fruit. On the palate, the wine is powerfully juicy and precise with fine pressure and a long-lasting finish. The finish is structured, lively and persistent.
Acidity: 5.8 g/l
Residual sugar: 2 g/l
Weinhof Ulrich St. Anna Chardonnay Vulkanland Steiermark DAC 2024 is a versatile food companion for sophisticated cuisine. It is particularly harmonious with Mediterranean cuisine, fish and seafood, such as grilled sea bass, prawns or scallops. Asparagus dishes, veal and poultry dishes as well as mature hard cheeses also benefit from its structure and freshness. Served at 8-10°C, this Styrian local wine unfolds its precision and is equally suitable for large glasses, festive menus and conscious enjoyment.
