This iconic red wine cuvée combines Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from the best vineyards on the Leithaberg and in Andau, two of the most important regions of origin for structurally strong Austrian red wines. This project is characterised by uncompromising quality, precise selection and a clear focus on maximum depth and expression.


The wine is matured in French barriques using the elaborate double-oak method, which gives this premium red wine from Austria enormous density, complexity and elegant wood structure. At 15%, the BATONNAGE 2023 is powerful, concentrated and at the same time harmoniously integrated. Sealed with a natural cork and with a Lager potential until around 2037, this single-vineyard cuvée red wine is one of Austria's long-lasting top wines, which impresses even at a young age and continues to gain depth as it matures.

Tasting Note

The glass reveals a deep, dark ruby red colour with an almost opaque core. The nose reveals intense aromas of dark berries, cassis and ripe cherries, accompanied by elegant roasted aromas, fine spices and subtle wood notes. The BATONNAGE 2023 is powerful and complex on the palate with a dense structure, ripe fruit, precise tannins and great depth.

This Austrian cuvée red wine is an ideal accompaniment to strong meat dishes. It harmonises particularly well with grilled beef, steak, game or lamb. The Wild Boys of Club Batonnage BATONNAGE 2023 also reveals its full depth and structure with stews, dark sauces or mature hard cheese.
