The Tement Welschriesling Opok Südsteiermark DAC 2024 11.5% vol. 0.75 l is a lively and terroir-influenced Welschriesling from southern Styria that impressively reflects the signature of the renowned Tement winery. As a Südsteiermark DAC regional wine, this Austrian white wine stands for freshness, clarity and a precise characterisation of origin. The vines grow predominantly on the typical Opok soils, calcareous marl soils that are characteristic of the region and give the wine its fine minerality and elegant structure.


The vines, which are around 31 years old, produce concentrated grapes that are carefully harvested. After natural spontaneous fermentation, the wine matures for 6 to 12 months on the fine lees in stainless steel tanks, which gives it additional structure and aromatic depth without losing its freshness. With 11.5% alcohol by volume, this Welschriesling Südsteiermark DAC is particularly light, precise and lively. Its ideal drinking maturity lies in the first three years, when fruit and freshness harmonise perfectly.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Tement Welschriesling Opok 2024 is light yellow in colour with a clear brilliance. The nose reveals aromas of green apple, lime, white flowers and fine herbs. On the palate, the wine is slightly fresh and juicy with a structuring thread of acidity. The finish is lively, slightly salty, mineral and pleasantly long-lasting.

Served at 8-10°C, this Welschriesling from Southern Styria is ideal as an uncomplicated aperitif as well as an animating accompaniment to regional specialities.
