The Cordero di Montezemolo MONFALLETTO Barolo DOCG 2021 14.5% Vol. 0.75 l is the flagship wine of the traditional Cordero di Montezemolo winery in the heart of Piedmont. This classic Barolo DOCG from La Morra is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes and combines the essence of the estate's vineyards. Monfalletto Barolo is produced by bringing together all the plots of land that the estate cultivates in La Morra, with the exception of small quantities that are selected for the top wines Barolo Gattera and Barolo Riserva Gorette. With around 14 hectares of vineyards, this wine represents the most important production of the estate and epitomises the history, style and philosophy of the Montezemolo family.


The grapes are harvested parcel by parcel in order to select the optimum ripening time for each vineyard. After careful vinification in stainless steel tanks, the individual lots are matured separately before being brought together to form the final cuvée during bottling. This precise method gives the Barolo Monfalletto its characteristic balance of structure, elegance and depth. Despite its classic Barolo structure, this wine shows remarkable accessibility and finesse even at a young age. With 14.5% alcohol by volume, a natural cork stopper, a recommended serving temperature of 16-18 °C and ageing potential until around 2039, this Nebbiolo Barolo from Piedmont is one of the most characterful and elegant representatives of its appellation.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Monfalletto Barolo 2021 is a classic garnet red with ruby-coloured reflections. The nose reveals complex aromas of ripe red fruit, cherries and raspberries, accompanied by fine spicy nuances and subtle floral notes. On the palate, the wine is structured and elegant with fine, well-integrated tannins. The finish is harmonious, complex and long-lasting.

This Barolo DOCG from Nebbiolo is an excellent accompaniment to braised beef, lamb, game dishes or hearty pasta dishes with ragù. The Cordero di Montezemolo Monfalletto Barolo also harmonises very well with truffle dishes, mushroom risotto, mature hard cheese or braised meat dishes from Italian cuisine and is ideal for festive menus as well as for special moments of enjoyment with great red wines from Piedmont.
