Under the guidance of Master Blender Billy Walker, single malts are created here that reveal new facets of Speyside whiskies through exceptional cask combinations. For the Cuvée Cask Finish 2012, the whisky was first matured in the traditional manner in ex-American bourbon casks, before being transferred to carefully selected European red wine barriques for its final maturation. What makes this bottling special is the blending of four different wine cask finishes into a harmonious work of art. The high-quality 0.7 l bottle is aimed at connoisseurs and collectors who appreciate complex Speyside single malts with distinctive cask character.


For this bottling, Billy Walker selected only high-quality barriques from renowned European wine regions. The casks used came from the French AOC regions of Languedoc and Médoc, as well as barriques from the Italian wineries Grattamacco and Recioto della Valpolicella. This exceptional combination of casks lends the whisky intense fruity notes, elegant spice and impressive depth. The GlenAllachie Wine Series Cuvée Cask Finish 2012 is bottled at 48% ABV, non-chill-filtered and with no added colouring, ensuring that its natural character is fully preserved. The result is an opulent Speyside single malt with complex aromas and remarkable elegance.

Tasting Note

Colour: Natural gold.

Nose: Notes of ripe fruit, heather honey, dried red berries, ginger, caramelised biscuits and delicate spices.

Palate: Layers of orchard fruits, orange zest and honeycomb, followed by plum syrup, figs, candied cherries, as well as cinnamon, ginger and red berries.

Finish: Long-lasting, fruity and spicy with subtle notes of red wine and pleasant oak spice.

The GlenAllachie WINE SERIES Cuvée Cask Finish 2012 reveals its complex aromas best when enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water. This Speyside single malt Scotch whisky pairs particularly well with dark chocolate, fig tart, berry desserts, mature hard cheese, roasted almonds or dried fruit.
