The Borgo Conventi FRIULANO Isonzo del Friuli DOC 2024, 12.5% vol., in a 0.75-litre bottle, is a characterful Italian white wine from the renowned Isonzo del Friuli DOC region in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The long-established Borgo Conventi winery looks back on a rich history, its name deriving from an ancient legend about a noble landowner, a monk and the first monastery in the Farra d’Isonzo area. Its modern development began in 1975 with the founding of the winery by Gianni Vescovo, whose aim was to produce elegant wines that reflect their terroir. Since 2019, Borgo Conventi has been part of the Villa Sandi Group and is run by the Moretti Polegato family, who also own the renowned Villa Sandi winery. Following the takeover, investment in vineyards and cellar technology has been further expanded, whilst the sustainable quality philosophy has been consistently upheld. The result is authentic wines that impressively reflect the character of the Friuli region.


The 2024 vintage is vinified exclusively from the indigenous Friulano grape variety. Following gentle pressing, temperature-controlled fermentation takes place with selected yeasts over around ten days in stainless steel tanks. The wine then matures in stainless steel tanks until the following spring, ensuring that its freshness, elegance and varietal aromas are optimally preserved. Even in its youth, this Friulano from the Isonzo del Friuli DOC delights with its lively expressiveness, yet it also has the potential to develop harmoniously in the bottle over several years. Its subtle minerality, balanced structure and elegant character make it a versatile companion for a wide range of dining occasions.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Borgo Conventi FRIULANO Isonzo del Friuli DOC 2024 presents a pale straw-yellow colour with subtle golden highlights. On the nose, delicate floral notes emerge initially, developing into intense mineral nuances and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, the wine is fresh, fruity and harmonious, with a soft, full-bodied structure and the nutty character typical of the grape variety. The long-lasting finish is accompanied by subtle hints of fresh almonds.

The Borgo Conventi FRIULANO Isonzo del Friuli DOC 2024 is ideal as an aperitif and pairs superbly with fish carpaccio, seafood, fish pasta and fresh vegetable sticks with dip. This Friulano from Friuli also pairs superbly with Mediterranean starters, white poultry or mild goat’s cheese. Served at 10–12 °C, it reveals its elegant aromas and delicate minerality to particular effect.
