The St. Kilian Kiliani Edition BONIFATIUS Single Malt Whisky is the latest release in the special Kiliani Edition series from the German distiller St. Kilian Distillers, and pays tribute to an important historical figure: Boniface. Traditionally, the distillery releases a bottling with a regional connection around the feast day of Saint Kilian. Strictly limited to 750 bottles, this edition was matured for over 6 years in fresh German oak casks (Virgin German Oak) and symbolically combines the strength of the oak with modern whisky craftsmanship. At 46% ABV in a 0.5-litre bottle, this German single malt whisky is an exclusive collector’s item and a fitting conclusion to the Kiliani series.


Following on from previous editions such as Gailana, Gosbert, Burkard, Immina and Hedan, the Kiliani Edition BONIFATIUS whisky marks the final chapter in this historic series. Maturation in Virgin German Oak casks lends the distillate a distinctive structure, delicate woody notes and a harmonious blend of fruitiness and spice. The influence of German oak lends depth and character, whilst the meticulous craftsmanship of the St. Kilian Distillery results in a well-balanced premium single malt whisky from Germany that combines tradition, history and the art of distillation.

Tasting Note

Colour: Warm amber with subtle reddish-copper highlights.

Nose: A fruity opening with juicy apples, ripe banana and sweet pear, complemented by creamy vanilla, toasted nuts and delicate chocolate.

Palate: Smooth and harmonious with fresh fruity notes, sweet vanilla and subtle oaky spice, which lends the whisky a pleasant structure.

Finish: Short to medium-length and well-balanced, with gentle vanilla, a light hint of wood and a pleasantly sweet fruity note.

The St. Kilian Kiliani Edition BONIFATIUS Single Malt Whisky reveals its flavours best when enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water, which allows the fruit and oak notes to come through particularly well. It pairs superbly with mildly matured cheese, roasted nuts or savoury specialities such as air-dried ham. Desserts featuring apple, pear, vanilla cream or chocolate also harmonise beautifully with the fruity and slightly spicy notes of this German single malt whisky.
