Description
Description
Bràulio Amaro herbal liqueur is a traditional Italian amaro from the Alpine region of Bormio in Valtellina, which has been produced since the 19th century according to a historic recipe. This unique blend was developed by the botanist Francesco Peloni, who combined regional mountain herbs with alcohol to create a distinctive Alpine herbal liqueur. Some of the herbs used come from Monte Braulio, after which the liqueur is named, giving this Amaro its close connection to the Alpine countryside. With an alcohol content of 21% vol. in a 1-litre bottle, Bràulio Amaro Alpino impresses with its intense and distinctive herbal character.
Following careful production and fermentation, the Bràulio herbal liqueur undergoes a further two years’ ageing in oak barrels, which makes its aromas more harmonious and complex. The combination of selected mountain herbs, traditional production methods and cask ageing ensures a special balance of robust spiciness, subtle bitterness and pleasant sweetness. This premium Amaro from Italy embodies authentic Alpine culinary culture and is ideal as a classic digestif after a meal.
Tasting Note
Colour: Dark amber with warm brown highlights.
Nose: Intense aromas of Alpine herbs, roots and spices, accompanied by subtle woody notes and a pleasant freshness.
Palate: Full-bodied and spicy with robust mountain herbs, harmonious bitterness, subtle sweetness and delicate nuances of oak barrel ageing.
Finish: Long-lasting and aromatic with intense herbal spice, elegant bitter notes and a pleasantly smooth aftertaste.
Bràulio Amaro herbal liqueur is best served well chilled or over ice, which really brings out its Alpine herbal aromas. As a classic digestif, it is an excellent accompaniment to hearty dishes such as game, stews, cheese platters or Italian specialities. Its bittersweet character also harmonises perfectly with dark chocolate, nut-based desserts or spiced pastries.
