The Old St. Croix A.H. Riise XO Explorer Reserve Germany Edition is a limited-edition rum-based spirit from the exclusive XO Explorer range. The range was designed for ten different countries, with each country edition featuring a bespoke presentation in the respective national language. The Germany Edition was created specifically for the German market and is limited to 15,176 numbered bottles. In terms of its content, the edition pays tribute to German pioneers and innovations in fields such as physics, quantum mechanics, X-ray technology, the automotive industry, communications and environmental technology. In doing so, Old St. Croix combines a matured blend with a unique collector’s concept and a clearly defined limited run.


For the XO Explorer Reserve Germany Edition, the Master Blender has crafted a carefully balanced blend of matured rum-based distillates, whose character is significantly shaped by ageing in oak casks. The result is smooth and rounded, combining matured fruit with distinct woody and umami notes. Caramelised or slightly charred figs and candied citrus peel meet notes of old oak, tobacco and leather. At 40% ABV in a 0.7-litre bottle, this numbered limited edition is aimed in particular at connoisseurs of the A.H. Riise and Old St. Croix XO ranges, as well as collectors of special country editions.

Tasting Note

Colour: Patinated gold.

Nose: Soft caramel and ripe fruit with a warm, harmonious character.

Palate: Intense and complex with pronounced umami notes of oak, tobacco and aged leather, accompanied by caramelised figs and candied citrus peel.

Finish: Deep and long-lasting with old oak and dried fruit.
