The Old Ballantruan THE PEATED MALT Unchillfiltered 50% vol. 0.7 l + GB is a characterful Speyside single malt Scotch whisky that deliberately defies the classic expectations of this region. Produced in the renowned Glenlivet region, this whisky is distilled using traditional methods; however, unlike typical Speyside bottlings, it uses heavily peated malt, resulting in a distinctive smoky style. This peated single malt combines the elegant fruitiness of Speyside with robust peaty smoke, creating an exciting interplay between origin and style. Bottled at a robust 50 per cent ABV and, of course, non-chill-filtered, this single malt Scotch whisky retains its natural oils, full body and intense aromatic depth. Tasting Note

Colour: Warm gold.

Nose: Heather smoke, delicate floral notes and subtle sweetness.

Palate: Mellow peaty smoke, citrus notes and a malty nuttiness.

Finish: Long and smoky, with lingering peat and malty sweetness, long-lasting.

The Old Ballantruan THE PEATED MALT pairs superbly with smoked salmon, oysters or grilled scallops, as its smoky notes perfectly complement the salty flavours. This peated Speyside single malt also pairs beautifully with grilled meats such as lamb, beef steak or game dishes, where its spicy smokiness really comes into its own.
