The Edradour Ballechin SFTC 10 Years Old Bourbon Cask Matured 2011 is a rare bottling from the popular Straight From The Cask (SFTC) series from the traditional Highland distillery Edradour. The particularly heavily peated whiskies are produced there under the name Ballechin, which impress with their strong smokiness and intense variety of flavours.

This single malt was distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2022 after 10 years of maturation. It was matured in selected bourbon barrels throughout, giving it a harmonious combination of vanilla sweetness, creamy texture and elegant oak flavours. At 57.4% vol., it comes at cask strength, naturally without chill-filtration and without colouring, which preserves its natural authenticity. Bottled in the characteristic 0.5-litre bottle and presented in a rustic wooden gift box (UK), it is a special highlight for collectors and lovers of peaty whiskies alike.

Tasting Note

Colour: Light gold with shiny reflections.

Nose: Intense peat smoke, plus vanilla, coconut, cereals and a fine spiciness from the oak.

Flavour: Powerful and creamy with a smoky character, notes of vanilla, toffee, wood, citrus and a hint of spice.

Finish: Langs, smoky and spicy with a fine balance of sweetness and wood notes.

The Edradour Ballechin SFTC 10 Years Old Bourbon Cask Matured 2011 is a single malt for connoisseurs who appreciate the intense character of peaty whiskies. It is perfect for pure enjoyment at cask strength, but can develop even more flavours with a few drops of water. It goes particularly well with grilled meat, strong cheese or as an accompaniment to dark chocolate and cigars.
