The Benromach PEAT SMOKE 2014 Speyside Single Malt is a small batch bottling with a strong character that impressively demonstrates that Speyside can also stand for intensely peated whisky. Distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2024 after nine years of maturation, this Speyside single malt Scotch whisky embodies the traditional signature of the Benromach Distillery, combined with a pronounced peat character.


Made from heavily peated barley with a phenol content of 57 PPM, this heavily peated Speyside whisky is one of the more powerful representatives of its region. It is matured exclusively in first-fill bourbon barrels, resulting in a clear structure with a fresh vanilla flavour. Stored for nine years in carefully selected oak casks, the Benromach Peat Smoke 2014 develops a harmonious combination of sweetness, fruit and smoke. Bottled at 46% without excessive intervention in the natural structure, this peated single malt from Speyside offers an authentic, expressive profile. It is supplied in a gift box, which also makes this vintage bottling visually appealing.

Tasting Note

Colour: Light gold, clear reflections, bright.

Nose: Vanilla, lemon sorbet, apricot, peat smoke, subtle oak.

Flavour: Creamy vanilla, citrus freshness, ripe stone fruit, spicy smoke, light sweetness.

Finish: Smoky campfire embers, dry, slightly spicy, balanced, long-lasting.

The Benromach Peat Smoke 2014 is an excellent accompaniment to smoked salmon, BBQ ribs or grilled steak, as its smoky structure ideally complements the roasted flavours. It also harmonises with mature cheddar or spicy blue cheese. In desserts, it is a particularly harmonious accompaniment to lemon tart, apricot cake or vanilla cream, as the fruity notes of the whisky emphasise the sweetness.
