The Glenlivet distillery is the first licensed whisky distillery in Scotland. Founded in 1824, it is now the largest malt distillery in Scotland, producing around 12 million litres of whisky a year.

The Glenlivet Founder's Reserve Single Malt Whisky offers the classic flavours of The Glenlivet in a creamy smooth texture and is a tribute to the Manner who started it all.

When George Smith started distilling, there were no age statements for The Glenlivet and he selected whisky from casks of different ages.

This freedom is replicated in The Glenlivet Founder's Reserve Single Malt Scotch Whisky by using a selection of many traditional, old oak casks.

The traditional oak casks in which whisky has previously matured give each expression its own characteristics. To give the flavour of the whisky a modern twist, Master Distiller Alan Winchester blends a selection of the old oak casks with American first-fill oak casks.

These American first-fill oak casks are casks that have never been used for maturing whisky before. The selective use of these casks ensures a smooth, creamy sweetness that blends harmoniously with the delicate flavours and complex fruit notes of the whisky.

Tasting Note

Colour: Pale gold.

Nose: Citrus fruits, sweet oranges.

Flavour: Creamy sweetness, juicy fruits such as oranges, pears, candied apples.

Finish: Langs, creamy, soft.

Founder's Reserve is an ideal accompaniment to light salmon dishes.
