Description
Veuve Clicquot was founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot and is now one of the most famous champagne houses in the world. After the early death of her Manner François Clicquot in 1805, his young widow, Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin, courageously took over the management of the company. Thanks to her innovative spirit and determination, she led the house to international success.
The merger with Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy (LVMH) in 1986 further strengthened the brand. To this day, Veuve Clicquot remains true to its motto: "Only one quality - the best."
Veuve Clicquot Champagne Brut Yellow Label is made from a harmonious blend of the three classic Champagne grape varieties. The cuvée consists of 56% Pinot Noir, which gives the champagne its structure and depth. 28% Chardonnay provides freshness and elegance, while 16% Pinot Meunier contributes fullness and fruity notes.
This careful composition reflects Veuve Clicquot's characteristic style and ensures consistently high quality. The dominance of Pinot Noir is typical of the house and gives the Brut Yellow Label its concise and balanced personality.
Tasting Note
In the glass, the Veuve Clicquot Champagne Brut Yellow Label has a radiant, golden yellow colour with a lively perlage that emphasises its freshness and elegance. A finely nuanced bouquet of white fruits, ripe pears and apples unfolds on the nose, accompanied by delicate citrus notes and a hint of brioche, hinting at the long maturation on the lees. On the palate, the champagne is balanced and structured with a harmonious combination of freshness and fullness. The fruity flavours are complemented by hints of vanilla, toasted almonds and subtle mineral notes. The finish is long-lasting, lively and elegant, with a fine complexity that is typical of the House of Veuve Clicquot.
Grape varieties: Chardonnay 28%, Pinot Noir 56%, Pinot Meunier 16%

The Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label is ideal as an aperitif, but also shows its full class when paired with fine food. We particularly recommend pairing it with fine sushi, fresh oysters or scallops. It also harmonises perfectly with creamy cheeses such as mature Brie or Chaource. If you prefer something more refined, you can serve it with a roast breast of guinea fowl with a citrus reduction or with a light fish terrine. A tarte tatin with a hint of vanilla is recommended as a dessert accompaniment.
