"Cofradia" means unity, brotherhood and friendship.

The tequila distillery was given this name because - despite modern technology - it insists on traditional methods in the production of its tequilas.

The distillery was founded more than 50 years ago in the state of Jalisco in Mexico and today up to 15,000 litres of tequila are produced here every day.

The blue agaves used for production grow for around 8 years.

Another key element is the clear water from the surrounding Berger mountains. The harvested agave hearts are first roasted in one of the two special brick ovens, then fermented in stainless steel tanks and finally distilled. The finished distillate is then either bottled directly as young tequila or matured for up to two years in white oak barrels.

The distillery has planted extra mango trees to keep the temperature in the halls cool and humid at the same time. These prevent the barrel wood from drying out and the alcohol from evaporating too much.

Colour: Clear.

Nose: Sweet and woody.

Flavour: Fruity, notes of oak and maguey syrup.

Finish: Langs on the palate.
