Angostura 1824 Premium Caribbean Rum is an exceptional rum that reflects the high art of rum production from the renowned Angostura distillery. With an alcohol content of 40% vol., this premium rum is the result of a careful selection and blending of various rums aged for twelve years by Angostura's master blender. Once these exquisite rums have been blended, they are stored in American white oak barrels for an additional maturation period, which gives the rum a deep and complex flavour. Only when the master blender deems the maturation to be complete is the rum bottled in a manual bottling process to ensure the highest quality and purity.

This rum combines a variety of fruity, spicy and woody notes that blend harmoniously. The maturation in oak barrels gives it warm vanilla and caramel notes that harmonise perfectly with the sweet and fruity elements. The result is a soft but powerful rum with a balanced sweetness and an elegant spiciness.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark gold with amber reflections.

Nose: Aromas of caramel, vanilla and tropical fruits such as plums and pineapple, accompanied by a fine oak note and a hint of spices.

Palate: Full-bodied and harmonious, with rich flavours of caramel, fresh fruit, a gentle spice of cinnamon and cloves, and a light oak note that is perfectly balanced.

Finish: Langs and warm, with a gentle sweetness and an elegant oak finish that slowly unfolds.

Angostura 1824 Premium Caribbean Rum is ideal for drinking neat or on ice to intensify the flavours. It goes perfectly with mature cheeses such as Comté or Pecorino, and also harmonises well with dark chocolate or grilled meat. This rum also comes into its own as an after-dinner drink or in a rum old fashioned and offers an all-round harmonious flavour experience.
