The Kilchoman MACHIR BAY Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the distinctive flagship expression from the independent Kilchoman Distillery and is named after the impressive Machir Bay on the west coast of the Scottish island of Islay. This Islay single malt whisky is matured in a carefully balanced combination of bourbon and sherry casks, resulting in a harmonious blend of intense fruitiness, sweet vanilla and the characteristic maritime peat smoke. At 46% ABV in a 0.7-litre bottle, the Kilchoman Machir Bay is an authentic example of modern peated Scotch whiskies.


The Kilchoman Distillery is one of Islay’s younger distilleries and is renowned for its traditional methods, artisanal production and characterful Peated Malts. The Machir Bay Single Malt impresses with its harmonious balance of tropical fruits, creamy sweetness, subtle cask notes and elegantly integrated smoke. Colour: Pale gold with warm highlights.

Nose: Intense aromas of tropical fruits, sweet vanilla and creamy notes, accompanied by distinctive peaty smoke and subtle malt nuances.

Palate: A balanced combination of fruity sweetness, ripe fruit, creamy vanilla, spicy oak and harmoniously integrated smoky notes.

Finish: Long-lasting and complex, with pleasant peaty smoke, subtle sweetness and fruity accents.

Kilchoman MACHIR BAY Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water, allowing the fruity and smoky aromas to unfold to their full potential. It pairs superbly with smoked fish, grilled meat, barbecue dishes or strong cheeses such as mature Cheddar.
