Zacapa 23 Centenario Gran Reserva, one of the most renowned and best-known rums in the world, is produced by the Guatemalan rum brand Zacapa, which was founded in 1976. Zacapa is internationally recognised for its high-quality rums, which are produced using a unique and extremely complex ageing process.

The rum is produced in the highlands of Guatemala, where the cool climate and high altitude create optimal conditions for ageing. The sugar cane used, which grows on fertile volcanic soil, gives the rum a distinctive flavour profile that sets it apart from other varieties.

In keeping with Zacapa's tradition, Zacapa Centenario Royal is made from "virgin sugar cane honey", which means that it comes from the first pressing of the sugar cane. After distillation, it underwent Zacapa's special ageing process, the so-called "Sistema Solera", in which different vintages are stored in a continuous blending process.

Zacapa's master blender selected the rarest and best matured rums from Guatemala's cellars to create the Zacapa Royal. It received its special finish in fine French oak barrels, and the slow maturation of this rum contributes significantly to the development of its complex flavour profile.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep, bright gold.

Nose: Complex and inviting, with aromas of toasted oak, sweet vanilla and a hint of roasted nuts, rounded off with subtle notes of cognac and sherry.

Flavour: Exceptionally rich and full-bodied, this rum offers a harmonious blend of caramel, spices and tropical fruits, enhanced by the warmth of the cognac cask.

Finish: Langs and majestic, with a lingering echo of dark chocolate, honey and a delicate smokiness.

The Ron Zacapa Centenario ROYAL Solera Gran Reserva Especial is ideally suited to be enjoyed neat, ideally at room temperature to fully develop its exquisite complexity. This rum is also an excellent choice for luxurious cocktails that require a deep and expressive base. It harmonises perfectly with high-quality dark chocolate or as an accompaniment to a fine cigar, rounding off the luxurious experience.
