The Glen Garioch 15 Years Old Sherry Cask Matured is an exceptional bottling from one of Scotland's oldest active distilleries. Glen Garioch Distillery, founded in 1797, is located in the picturesque Highland region of Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire and is known for its traditionally crafted, characterful single malts.

This whisky is matured for at least 15 years in hand-selected sherry casks from Spain, made from high-quality oak. The casks were previously saturated with sherry, which gives the whisky its characteristic sweetness and depth. This long maturation process allows it to develop a multi-layered flavour with rich fruity notes, spicy oak and a subtle sweetness. Bottled at cask strength with 53.7% vol., the whisky remains unadulterated - without chill-filtration and without colouring.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep mahogany with reddish reflections.

Nose: Rich aromas of dark dried fruit, sultanas, dates and figs, accompanied by spicy oak, chocolate and a subtle nuttiness.

Flavour: Full-bodied and complex with notes of sweet sherry, candied orange, caramel, dark chocolate and fine cinnamon spice.

Finish: Long-lasting, warm and intense with an elegant balance of sweet fruit, oak and a subtle spicy note.

The Glen Garioch 15 Years Old Sherry Cask Matured is perfect for pure enjoyment, preferably with a few drops of water to open up its flavours even further. It harmonises perfectly with dark chocolate, mature cheese or roasted nuts, which emphasise its sherry notes.
