Bunnahabhain Mòine Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 46.3% Vol. 0.7 l + GB is an Islay whisky full of character that shows the smoky side of the traditional Bunnahabhain distillery. "Mòine" means peat in Gaelic, and it is precisely this that characterises the unique character of this bottling. Unlike many of the distillery's other whiskies, which tend to be mild and unpeated, the Mòine is distilled from peated barley malt and then matured in selected oak casks, giving it a perfect balance of smoke, spice and fruitiness.


At 46.3% vol., Bunnahabhain Mòine is bottled at full strength, non-chill-filtered and with a natural colour. This preserves its original character unadulterated. The 0.7 litre bottle in an elegant gift box makes this bottling an attractive choice for lovers of smoky Islay whiskies who also appreciate the soft elegance of Bunnahabhain.

Tasting Note

Colour: Golden amber with light copper reflections.

Nose: Maritime freshness with peat smoke, accompanied by notes of vanilla, sweet malt and dried fruit.

Flavour: Strong and balanced, with clear smoke, a sweetish malt note, spicy wood notes and a hint of caramel.

Finish: Langs, smoky and warm, with maritime nuances and a gentle sweetness.

The Bunnahabhain Mòine unfolds its full flavour pure in a nosing glass, preferably with a drop of water to open up the smoky and fruity notes. It is an excellent accompaniment to hearty dishes such as grilled steak, lamb chops or smoked fish, as the peat flavours emphasise the roasted aromas. It also harmonises with mature cheeses such as cheddar or blue cheese. For a sweet moment of pleasure, it is also suitable with dark chocolate with a high cocoa content.
