The Royal Oporto Tawny Porto 19% Vol. 0.75 litre is a classic port wine from the traditional Real Companhia Velha winery, which was founded in 1756 and is now one of the oldest wineries in Portugal. With over 250 years of experience in the Douro Valley, the winery stands for authenticity, quality and craftsmanship. The Royal Oporto Tawny is an elegant cuvée made from the traditional red grape varieties of the Douro - including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca and Tinto Cão.


Its name "Tawny" refers to the ageing in small oak barrels, in which the wine matures for several years. The oxidative ageing process gives it its characteristic amber colour and an aromatic complexity that distinguishes it from Ruby Ports. The result is a harmonious, soft and richly flavoured port wine that combines fruitiness and nuttiness in an ideal balance. The Royal Oporto Tawny embodies the classic style of the house and offers maximum enjoyment - both on its own and as a versatile accompaniment.

Tasting Note

In the glass, the Royal Oporto Tawny has a warm amber colour with reddish-golden reflections. The nose reveals aromas of dried fruit, sultanas and figs, accompanied by subtle notes of nuts and caramel. On the palate, it is soft, round and balanced, with a fine sweetness, elegant structure and a long, aromatic finish.

The Royal Oporto Tawny Porto is ideal as a digestif and is best served slightly chilled at around 12-16 °C. It harmonises perfectly with chocolate or nut-based desserts, such as brownies, walnut cake or crème brûlée. Equally exciting is the combination with mature cheese - especially blue cheese. It is also an excellent choice with dried fruit or a selection of fine chocolates. Thanks to its versatility, it can also be wonderfully integrated into port-based cocktails, making it a modern companion for special moments of pleasure.
