Tasting Note

Colour: Bright copper with a reddish sheen.

Nose: Ripe red berries, toffee, creamy vanilla and a hint of walnut. Elegant notes of port wine, sultanas and oak.

Flavour: Soft and fruity with aromas of dark cherries, honey, almonds and slightly spicy oak. The port cask sweetness harmonises perfectly with the creamy texture.

Langs: Medium to long with notes of dark fruit, delicate chocolate, spices and an elegant tannin structure.

The Penderyn Portwood Single Malt is an excellent accompaniment to smoked duck breast carpaccio, game terrines or mature Brie de Meaux. Desserts with dark berries, fig tart or dark chocolate also ideally complement the fruity and spicy flavours of this whisky.
