Crafted at the renowned Dalmore Distillery, famous for its exceptional maturation methods, this whisky combines the sweet fruity notes of Portuguese port casks with the classic elegance of a premium Dalmore single malt.

Maturation takes place in two phases: Firstly, the whisky spends time in American ex-bourbon casks, which give it its vanilla and caramel notes. It is then transferred to hand-picked tawny port casks from Portugal, where it develops its deep fruit flavours and spicy complexity. This unique finish ensures a perfect balance between sweetness, spice and wood notes.

With an alcohol content of 46.5% vol., the Dalmore Port Wood Reserve presents itself in a strong and full-bodied form - without chill-filtration to preserve its full character.

Tasting Note

Colour: Deep mahogany with reddish reflections.

Nose: Ripe red berries, dark cherries, orange marmalade, cocoa, vanilla and toasted oak.

Palate: Full-bodied and velvety, with flavours of dark chocolate, dried fruit, spicy oak, toffee and roasted almonds. The port wine notes give it a fine sweetness with hints of plums and berries.

Finish: Langs and warming, with notes of caramel, nutmeg, fine spices and a hint of espresso.

The Dalmore Port Wood Reserve is ideal for drinking neat or with a few drops of water to further develop its fruity and spicy flavours. Its deep, sweet and spicy structure makes it the perfect companion for dark chocolate, crème brûlée or mature cheese. It also reveals its full complexity in combination with game dishes, roasted nuts or candied fruit.
