Jameson Caskmates Triple Distilled Irish Whiskey Stout Edition is an exceptional release, the result of a unique collaboration between the Jameson Distillery and Franciscan Wells Brewery. This collaboration began with the exchange of Jameson casks, which were used by the brewery to brew stout.

Once the beer had been bottled, the casks were returned to the Jameson distillery, which used them to mature its Jameson Whiskey. The result of this creative partnership is the Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition, a whisky that perfectly integrates the intense flavours of stout into its own character.

Following the traditional triple distillation process, Jameson Caskmates is matured in Irish ex-bourbon casks, but it also undergoes a special finish in strong beer casks from the Franciscan Wells Brewery. This special ageing process lends the whisky a richer depth and complex aromas of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee, which harmonise perfectly with the typical fruity and vanilla notes of Jameson Whiskey.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark gold with coppery highlights.

Nose: Roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and sweet vanilla with a hint of caramel and oak.

Palate: Full-bodied and rich with notes of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, caramel and a subtle spiciness. The stout’s finish brings a subtle hint of brewer’s yeast and an added depth of roasted malt.

Finish: Long and smooth, with a pleasant oaky spiciness and a hint of coffee and chocolate, accompanied by a slight sweetness.

The Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition is ideal for drinking neat, particularly at room temperature or slightly chilled, to allow its complex flavours to unfold. It pairs perfectly with dark chocolate, grilled meat or tangy cheese. It is also ideal as a base for cocktails such as an Irish Coffee or a Whiskey Sour, bringing interesting new flavours to the glass.
