The Jameson Caskmates Triple Distilled Irish Whiskey Stout Edition is an exceptional bottling resulting from a unique collaboration between the Jameson Distillery and the Franciscan Wells Brewery. This collaboration began with the exchange of Jameson barrels used by the brewery to brew stout beer.

After the beer was bottled, the barrels were returned to the Jameson distillery, which used them to mature its Irish whiskey. The result of this creative partnership is the Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition, a whiskey that perfectly integrates the intense flavours of the stout into its own characteristics.

Jameson Caskmates is matured in Irish ex-bourbon barrels following the traditional triple distillation process, but is also given a special finish in strong beer barrels from the Franciscan Wells Brewery. This special maturation gives the whiskey a more mature depth and complex flavours of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee, which harmonise perfectly with the typical fruity and vanilla notes of Jameson Whiskey.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark gold with copper reflections.

Nose: Roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and sweet vanilla with a hint of caramel and oak.

Flavour: Full-bodied and rich with notes of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, caramel and a subtle spiciness. The finish of the stout brings a subtle hint of brewer's yeast and an added depth of roasted malt.

Finish: Langs and smooth, with a pleasant oak spice and a hint of coffee and chocolate accompanied by a slight sweetness.

The Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition is ideal for pure enjoyment, especially at room temperature or slightly chilled to develop its complex flavours. It goes perfectly with dark chocolate, grilled meat or savoury cheese. It is also ideal as a base for cocktails such as an Irish coffee or a whiskey sour and brings interesting new flavours to the glass.
