Cork, located on the southern coast of Ireland, is home to the picturesque town of Skibbereen, which is crossed by the River Ilen. This region is known for its scenic beauty and cultural significance, particularly in the tradition of whiskey production. In 2007, three friends founded the West Cork Distillery in Skibbereen. This small, independent distillery is characterised by the production of high-quality whiskeys that are made with great care and craftsmanship.

From the very beginning, the founders focussed on quality and tradition, combined with an innovative approach. The West Cork Distillery uses crystal clear spring water and carefully selected grain. This commitment reflects the spirit of innovation and craftsmanship that characterises the Irish whiskey industry.

As with other West Cork bottlings, this whiskey is triple distilled. To create a better effect between the copper of the pot stills and the rising vapour, the stills of West Cork are only half-filled. The West Cork CALVADOS CASK FINISH Irish blended whiskey, which is matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, is given a very special finish in Calvados Garnier barrels.

Tasting Note

Colour: Light gold with a slight apple shimmer.

Nose: Fruity and fresh with green apples, vanilla, honey and floral notes.

Flavour: Mild and balanced with stewed apples, oak spice, toffee and a hint of cinnamon.

Finish: Medium-long, soft and fruity with a fine woody note.

Perfect for savouring neat, ideally at room temperature or with a few drops of water.
