The Chairman's Reserve Rum Vintage 2009 46% Vol. 0.7 l + GB is an excellent rum that was first produced in 1999 under the supervision of Laurie Barnard, the "Chairman", and represents the unique style of St Lucia rums. This vintage rum is the first vintage in the new Chairman's Reserve vintage range and is a particularly fine bottling.

The rum is made from distillates that have been processed in two different stills - the John Dore Pot Still and the Coffey Still. After distillation, the rums are first stored separately in different barrels and then matured for a further 11 years. The Chairman's Reserve Vintage 2009 was bottled in 2021 and offers an intense, multi-layered taste experience with complex flavours and a rich texture. With an alcohol content of 46% vol. this rum is strong and harmonious at the same time.

Tasting Note

Colour: Dark mahogany.

Nose: Aromas of roasted nuts, caramel and vanilla, accompanied by a fine woody note and light spices.

Flavour: Full-bodied and rich, with notes of dried fruit, toffee and a subtle oak note.

Finish: Langs and warm, with a gentle, sweet spiciness and a hint of dried fruit.

This rum is ideal for drinking straight or with an ice cube to further develop the flavours. It goes well with dark chocolate, mature cheese or a hearty meat dish. It is also an excellent choice as a digestif after a fine dinner.
