The 12-year-old The Epicurean is a single cask bottling to be savoured in its full intensity and complexity. This bottling is made without chill-filtration and without additional colouring, which preserves the authenticity and purity of the whisky.

The 12-year-old The Epicurean Blended Malt Whisky offers a wonderful balance of fresh, fruity flavours and gentle oak notes, which have been created by the long maturation in selected casks. With an alcohol content of 46% vol., this whisky is strong and complex, yet wonderfully round and accessible. The combination of the fresh fruitiness of Lowland whiskies and the delicate notes of wood and spices results in a full-bodied yet harmonious flavour experience.

Tasting Note

Colour: Light gold with a light copper hue.

Nose: Fresh aromas of citrus fruit, green apple and a subtle hint of vanilla, accompanied by a fine wood and spice component.

Flavour: Full-bodied and round, with a harmonious blend of fruity notes, gentle oak and spice nuances as well as a slightly sweet vanilla and honey note.

Finish: Langs and soft, with a warm aftertaste of oak and a subtle fruitiness.

Douglas Laing THE EPICUREAN 12 Years Old Lowland Blended Malt is ideal for pure enjoyment, ideally at room temperature to allow the flavours to fully develop. This whisky also brings out its complexity and fruitiness perfectly as a base for cocktails such as a "Whisky Sour" or "Old Fashioned". This whisky goes particularly well with savoury dishes such as grilled meat, barbecue or fine cheeses such as Brie and Camembert, which complement the soft and fruity aromas of the whisky wonderfully.
