The Talisker 8 Years Old Single Malt Special Release 2020 57.9% is a special edition from Diageo's renowned Special Releases series and shows the maritime character of the Isle of Skye distillery in its powerful, original form. A comparatively young but intensively matured Talisker was selected for this bottling, which was matured in selected casks and then bottled at cask strength. The special release from 2020 presents the typical signature of the distillery: peppery notes, a clear coastal character and the present smoky note that has always characterised Talisker. Colour: Light gold.

Nose: Maritime notes, smoke, peppery spice and subtle fruit accents.

Flavour: Powerful, spicy and maritime, with peat, salt, warm spices and slightly sweet undertones.

Finish: Langs, smoky and spicy with a distinct coastal flavour.

This Talisker harmonises perfectly with strong dishes such as smoked fish, grilled seafood or spicy meat dishes, as its maritime spiciness ideally accompanies these flavours. Dark chocolate, savoury caramel or nutty desserts also form an exciting contrast to its smoky structure.
