Description
Description
Noilly Prat Original Dry is a legendary French vermouth with 18% vol. that is appreciated worldwide for its dry style and unmistakable flavour. Noilly Prat is famous for its dry vermouth variant and is considered the epitome of classic French aperitif culture. The traditional house was founded in 1813 and has been one of the most important vermouth producers in the world ever since. The original recipe has been used unchanged since 1843 - a tribute to the brand's precision craftsmanship and centuries of expertise.
Noilly Prat Original Dry is produced in Marseillan, on the French Mediterranean coast, using a process that is unique in the world. The base wines from the Picpoul and Clairette grape varieties, which are typical of the region, are matured for 12 months in 600-litre oak barrels in the open air. This open maturation allows a natural exchange of air, which gives the wine an oxidative depth and the characteristic, slightly nutty tone. An herbal blend of 20 different ingredients from four continents is then added to the wine. These include camomile, coriander from Morocco, bitter orange from Tunisia, cardamom from India and elderflower. This composition gives Noilly Prat Original Dry its refined flavour and unmistakable character.
Tasting Note
In the glass, Noilly Prat Original Dry presents itself in a clear, light golden colour with greenish reflections. Elegant aromas of dried herbs, citrus zest, camomile and fine spice unfold on the nose. On the palate, it is dry, balanced and complex, with nuances of bitter orange, fresh apple, wormwood and a subtle mineral salinity. The finish is long, herbaceous and pleasantly tart with finely structured depth.
Noilly Prat Original Dry is an essential ingredient for classic cocktails such as the Dry Martini, Gibson or Bamboo. It also unfolds its elegant flavour pure on ice with a lemon zest and is ideal as a stylish aperitif. In fine dining, it is often used to deglaze fish and poultry dishes and to refine light-coloured sauces and risottos. It is considered an indispensable secret ingredient in French cuisine in particular. A vermouth with history, tradition and flavour - ideal for connoisseurs, bartenders and gourmets with high standards.
