Taylor's Fine Ruby Port is a high-quality port wine from Portugal that is appreciated for its lively fruitiness and intense flavours. Produced by Taylor's, one of the most renowned port producers with a history dating back to 1692, this Ruby Port represents the tradition and expertise of the house.

The grapes for this wine come from the Baixo Corgo and Cima Corgo regions in the upper Douro Valley, which are known for their excellent wine-growing conditions. After the harvest, the wines are matured for around two years in large oak barrels in Taylor's cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, preserving their freshness and intense fruit flavour.

With an alcohol content of 20% vol., this port wine offers a full-bodied flavour experience that will delight connoisseurs and novices alike.

Tasting Note

In the glass, Taylor's Fine Ruby Port presents itself in a bright ruby red colour. The bouquet is characterised by intense aromas of ripe blackcurrants and cherries, accompanied by subtle notes of dark plums and red fruit jam. A full body with soft tannins unfolds on the palate, with the juicy flavours of black fruits dominating. The finish is long-lasting and harmonious, with a pleasant sweetness that emphasises the fruity character of the wine.

This Ruby Port harmonises excellently with strong cheeses, especially mature blue cheeses, as the sweetness of the wine forms an interesting contrast to the saltiness of the cheese. It also goes well with desserts with berries or dark chocolate, with the fruity and chocolaty notes of the wine rounding off the flavour experience. Served as an after-dinner digestif, Taylor's Fine Ruby Port offers an enjoyable end to a successful meal.

For a special flavour experience, it can be served slightly chilled at a temperature between 16°C and 18°C.
