Wemyss Malts was founded in 2005 by William Wemyss and is an independent family-run business renowned for producing exceptional spirits. The distillery is situated in Fife on the east coast of Scotland. The building resembles a castle and is built on top of ancient caves that have formed within the sea cliffs.

Wemyss Malts’ ‘Core Collection’ comprises three of the finest single malts, named after the aromas and flavours they offer: The Hive, Spice King and Peat Chimney.

The Hive is a blended malt whisky that greets the palate with a honeyed sweetness, zesty citrus notes and a bouquet of flowers. This zesty, sweet and well-rounded whisky is the perfect starting point for an adventurous exploration of flavour.

Tasting Note

Colour: Copper-gold.

Nose: Orange blossom, honey, hot buttered bread, malt bread, hints of golden sultanas, soft saffron.

Palate: Spices, zesty orange peel, warm ginger, honey.

Finish: Long-lasting, grapefruit studded with cloves, a hint of dry wood smoke.

Whether neat, on the rocks or as an Old Fashioned – this blended malt is always a delight.

It’s also the perfect accompaniment to cheese, ham or vanilla desserts such as panna cotta or crème brûlée.
