The Kuenz Naturbrennerei Rauchkofel Single Malt Whisky Sherry Cask Finished is an outstanding Austrian single malt whisky, lovingly handcrafted by the 12th generation at the Kuenz Kienzhof in East Tyrol. With an alcohol content of 43% vol. and a strictly limited edition of only 2,064 bottles, which were obtained from 7 carefully selected casks, this single malt is one of the most exclusive whiskies in Austria.


The Rauchkofel is distilled twice using the traditional method in small copper stills. First-fill barrels made from Styrian oak are used for maturation, giving the whisky its complex structure, fine woody notes and harmonious depth. The subsequent finish in first-fill sherry casks rounds off the flavour profile with fruity sweetness and spicy elegance - a perfect finish for this expressive Alpine whisky.

Tasting Note

Colour: Cherry wood.

Nose: Sweet vanilla meets ripe plums, dark pralines with orange filling, fine roasted notes of oak wood, chestnuts and a hint of liquorice.

Flavour: Roasted hazelnut shells, mountain honey sweetness, ripe quinces and fresh stewed apricots, accompanied by notes of toffee and mature sweet wine.

Finish: Long-lasting and elegant with subtle tobacco notes, warm spice and fine sherry sweetness.

The Kuenz Rauchkofel Single Malt Sherry Cask Finished unfolds its full flavour at room temperature on its own or lightly with a few drops of water to emphasise the fruity sherry notes. It harmonises perfectly with dark chocolate, nutty desserts, chestnut creations or a piece of hard cheese from the Alps.
