MarlinSpike Blended Aged Rum is an exceptional blended aged rum, 40 per cent ABV, in a 0.7-litre bottle, which combines traditional rum-making with a modern vision. The name MarlinSpike derives from the marlinspike – a tool used by sailors to untie stubborn knots on sailing ships, which symbolises a spirit of discovery, teamwork and craftsmanship. For this blend, rums aged for between 3 and 5 years from Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago and other Latin American countries are blended together. A matured Jamaican pot still rum adds extra depth and intensity, whilst another Latin American rum lends the blend freshness and balance. The result is a multi-layered premium rum that combines classic rum tradition with innovative aromas. MarlinSpike Blended Aged Rum reveals its aromas best when enjoyed neat, over a large ice cube or, in particular, mixed with tonic water, which brings out its fruity and spicy character to great effect. It is also ideal for rum and tonic, Old Fashioneds, rum Negronis or creative signature cocktails.
