The Deveron is a high-quality single malt whisky produced at the renowned Macduff Distillery in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The distillery was founded in either 1960 or 1962 and draws the water required for whisky production from the Gelly Spring, which contributes to the special purity and quality of the end product. With an impressive annual production capacity of 2.8 million litres, Macduff operates two wash stills and three spirit stills to ensure the high standards of whisky production.

Although the Macduff Distillery is geographically located in the Highlands, it is often categorised as part of the Speyside region as it combines stylistic elements of both regions. This classification emphasises the versatility and unique character of the whisky. Named after the River Deveron, which flows in the immediate vicinity of the distillery, this fine drop matures for 10 years in carefully selected oak casks.

Tasting Note

Nose: Fresh grass, roasted cereals, notes of dried barley sugar.

Taste: Floral, notes of hay, earthy flavours.

Finish: Langs, dry oak.
