Founded in 1798, Tobermory Distillery is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland and is located in Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. Since its foundation, it has experienced turbulent times with many changes of ownership and production stoppages. In 1993, Burn Stewart Distillers took over the distillery, which was sold to the South African Distill Group in 2013. In March 2017, production was halted once again in order to carry out reorganisation work. Despite these challenges, Tobermory remains an important part of the Scotch whisky tradition.

The 23-year-old Tobermory was allowed to mature for an extra long time and also received a finish in Oloroso sherry casks, which gives it an impressive depth and complexity. It now complements the island distillery's core range and offers connoisseurs a good choice. The extended maturation and final maturation in sherry casks creates a whisky with rich, full-bodied flavours that make it an outstanding representative of the Tobermory distillery.

Tasting Note

Colour: Light amber.

Nose: Fruity, vanilla, ripe oranges, notes of roasted barley, cocoa.

Flavour: Fruity, spicy, salted toffee, notes of vanilla, oak, candied citrus fruits, floral honey.

Finish: Langs, caramelised walnuts.
